Monastery it may have been, but you won’t find austerity here in the rooms at Son Brull. Instead, its 12^th century architectural heritage has been tastefully enhanced, and polished with modernity. Born and raised in Mallorca, Chef Andreu Segura heads up the culinary treats at this long-time foodie favourite amongst the gourmands. Restaurant 365 being a foodie legend, a bit of an island celebrity when it comes to food and Son Brull has its own organic farm.

Breakfast has all the lovely trappings of Mallorca including the most wonderful orange juice pressed from their own garden, their own olive oils and preserves that sing of sunshine. Daytime options include a poolside menu of course or lighter lunchtime treats. 

In the evenings the gourmet comes out to play at the award-winning Restaurant 3/65 by Chef Andreu Segura - try the tasting menu that sets your taste buds alight with epicurean delights of Mallorca. Good to know that the old olive press bar is just next door for the night cap - and yes they have their own lemon trees perfect for the in-house distilled gin.

These include sourcing plant treatments from the island like flor de sal and mountain herbs, giving the spa a serene pastoral feel. There are four treatment rooms with an outdoor raised patio that during the warmer months let the gentle Mallorcan breeze soothe you from behind billowing white linen (a favourite spa patch with stunning views across the countryside). In addition to the large outdoor pool, lined with proper relaxation beds as well as loungers, the spa has an indoor hydro massage pool and chill beds. 

Treatments include rituals, massages, facials as well as those focused on holistic and beauty. For activity buffs, there is a super onsite TechnoGym, outdoor tennis courts and fantastic cyclist routes through the mountains that lead on from the hotel. To complete the holistic buzz, Son Brull features a Hammam, whirlpool and sauna. Don the fluffy gowns for pampering & chill time or join one of the yoga and Pilates classes for a good stretch. 

Son Brull is found up in the secluded far northern corner of Mallorca (Majorca), past Soller and towards the picturesque old town of Pollença and enjoys a rural setting at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains and the Formentor Peninsula. Beaches, including the beautiful Cala Sant Vicenç are within easy reach, as are the golf courses. 

This location is fab for lovers of authenticity and the original Mallorca with the untouched Mallorcan town of Pollença full of historical sights such as Placa Major, Nostra Senyora Del Angels Church with it's rather fabulous rose window, Convent de Sant Domingo and the Puig de Maria. Just north of here is the dreamily cute fishing Port de Pollença.
