Red Bull’s Playstreets Bad Gastein, Austria

For two days – February 14 & 15, 2019 – the streets of Bad Gastein and their surrounding Heilstollen ('healing tunnels') and famous thermal spring trails (once frequented by German Emperor Wilhelm I and Iran's last king Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) will be turned in to a free skiers paradise, as ramps and mountains of snow are set up to accommodate the world’s very best in free skiing hosted by Red Bull.

This year will see 19 free ski champions from 10 different nations fly over Bad Gastein’s picturesque bridges and narrowly miss the roofs of its ancient Belle Époque houses.

A fun interlude on your Austrian ski holiday, this would be a great event to watch and even possibly get some tips from (double split-legged backflips on skis, anyone?).

Found in a beautiful National Park in the Austrian Alpine region of Salzburg, Bad Gastein is a fabulous place to stay and enjoy skiing, sun and some healingly fresh mountainside air.
