Design House Stockholm Flagship Store

Located at the NK (Nordiska Kompaniet) the flagship location of this legendary international design department store is the epitome of great Scandinavian design. Konst-ig

Considered by insiders to be Stockholm’s best bookstore, Konst-ig houses an impressive range of art, photography, and design tomes — many with a focus on rare European and Scandinavian art. 

Garbo Interior

Set inside a 600-square foot space in the heart of Östermalm, this one-of-a-kind store is stocked with vintage Scandinavian furnishings, classic designs, antiques, and unique textiles of superior quality. 

Fotografiska

Opened in May 2010, Fotografiska acts as both a museum and de-facto community meeting space for contemporary photography culture in Sweden. Here, exhibits range from Vee Speers and Annie Leibovitz to indie and up-and-coming nordic artists. Be sure to check their events series calendar for surprise lectures and programming.

Färgfabriken

Originally built in 1889 to house a lawnmower factory, today Färgfabriken is known for its art exhibitions and ground-breaking performances. Many of the space’s innovative events fuse dance, theatre, music and film — in the past even attracting cultural luminaries like David Lynch as visiting collaborators. 

Svenskt Tenn

Located on Strandvägen, this legendary interior design company was founded in 1924 by Estrid Ericson and the Swedish-Austrian architect and designer Josef Frank. Focussing for almost 100 years on the best in Swedish textiles and furniture design, today the shop sells a medley of modern classics, artisanal gifts, glass and pottery objects, and a range of goods by young and established designers. A must-see stop off for the shopper in you.

Moderna Museet

One of the most popular and innovative museums in Scandinavia, the Moderna Museet was created in 2009 to showcase the best in cutting edge design. In permanent residence are pieces by luminaries such as Marcel Duchamp, Louise Bourgeois, and Robert Rauschenberg, while the exhibition space holds a rotating cast of fascinating global contemporary artists.

Industricentralen

No trip to Stockholm is complete without a visit to the Industricentralen, the epicentre of the city’s gallery culture. Designed in 1937 by Ragnar Östberg, also the architect behind Stockholm's City Hall, this sprawling complex hosts internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, as well as emerging and mid-career innovators. 

Andrehn-Schiptjenko

Also inside the Industricentralen, since the 90s Andrehn-Schiptjenko has produced some of the regions “most edgy and experimental works” — frequently making it a must-see location for dealers and art world insiders.
