A sense of sophisticated Highland style permeates the walls and furniture in Kinloch Lodge as the vast teal, silver and grey skies of the Highlands are replicated in the delicate Nordic touches found in artworks, designer furnishings from the likes of Carl Hansen and whimsical collectables. Think sophisticated Highland luxe pared with country house chic with a Nordic twist.

Each room is slightly different, often using the distinctive landscapes to inform the colour scheme. Beds are super cosy, dressed with Egyptian sheets and plump duvets; and L’Occitane products, slippers and robes help ease into the chill zone. As smart yet comforting as the interiors are, you won’t help but stare out at the majestic Highland outdoors, across Loch na Dal or Kinloch Hill.

Comforting and local, the food at Kinloch Lodge has a family table vibe and promises to be hearty, fresh and always delicious. Resting in Scotland’s peaceful northern county of Sutherland, Kinloch Lodge is located near the beautiful Kinloch River and is an easy 45 minutes to Ben Hope by car and only an hour and a half to Ben Loyal, known as the Queen of the Scottish Mountains.

There are many direct flights daily to Inverness from Britain, Ireland and a number of European airports, and from Inverness, it is a two-hour drive, which can be arranged as chauffeured on request. Should you wish, you can arrive by helicopter and have a really James Bond entrance with up to 8 people, weather permitting, of course.

Kinloch Lodge is owned by a conservationists-at-heart Danish family who have a strong passion for Scotland and a deep-rooted love of unspoiled nature.
