The envy of food lovers, devotees of craft and engineering and those who quietly curate objects of lasting beauty, the Feuerring is forged in steel with uncommon clarity of purpose. Created by Andreas Reichlin, it is grounded in sculptural thinking and shaped by an exacting understanding of material, proportion and use. Getting your hands on one feels less like acquiring equipment and more like entering a long conversation with form, fire and time.
Reichlin’s background as a steel sculptor defines every decision. The Feuerring is developed through a process of reduction, where geometry is refined until nothing extraneous remains. Curves are calibrated by eye and experience. Thickness is chosen for balance as much as durability. Steel is treated with respect, allowed to express weight, warmth and surface variation without cosmetic distraction. Precision operates quietly, sensed in the way the object settles into space rather than announcing itself.
Craft anchors the philosophy. Each Feuerring is made in Switzerland, drawing on regional expertise more often associated with architectural metalwork than outdoor objects. Welds are resolved with calm assurance. Edges are finished with intention. Every dimension serves both structural integrity and visual harmony. This is engineering guided by sensitivity, where accuracy supports longevity and restraint becomes a form of elegance.
In use, the Feuerring shapes behaviour almost subconsciously. Fire gathers people. Cooking slows the tempo. Conversation finds its rhythm around a form that holds space without dominating it. Over time, exposure to flame, weather and human presence leaves its mark. A patina develops that cannot be replicated or hurried, turning each piece into a record of lived moments.
At the Immensee studio overlooking Lake Zug, this way of thinking extends into architecture. The space is open, permeable and reduced, allowing landscape and firelight to move freely. Larger works, including the Luna Grande series, explore scale with the same discipline, proving that mass can feel composed when proportion and material intelligence lead the design.
The Feuerring stands as a precise expression of creativity, craft and engineering in balance. An object shaped by patience, made to endure and intended to become more meaningful with every season it inhabits.
