Austrian by birth and mountain lover at heart, Erwin Peters is back in Zermatt — a place he knows well from his days as sous chef in the 90s. Peters returns with a no-nonsense approach to cooking after earning accolades at "Sendlhofers" in Bad Hofgastein (think two forks in the Falstaff ranking).

"I'm all about the fire — big cuts, smoky flavours, and pure and honest cooking," he says.

Erwin's speciality? Generous cuts of Rhine Valley Wagyu beef, dry-aged to perfection and grilled over an open flame for an intense, smoky taste. Expect hearty sides like his legendary 15-hour potatoes with nut butter alongside fresh-baked bread that's made daily. It's rustic, it's soulful, and it's delicious.

Luca Marti: The Wine Whisperer

The talented Luca Marti, restaurant manager and sommelier extraordinaire, matches Peters' fire-fuelled dishes. A true hospitality pro, Marti's love for food and wine started in the kitchen before honing his skills at the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lucerne. His wine pairings are spot-on, perfectly complementing the smoky, charred flavours from the grill. Expect some unforgettable pairings that bring out the best in every bite.

The Ultimate Alpine Feast

With its revamped concept, "The Grill" is for those who crave the real deal — a fresh meat counter, an open wood-fire grill, and a cosy yet stylish setting with a splash of British design flair. Imagine fiery red accents, plush seating, and views that make you stop in your tracks. Most of the ingredients are sourced from local farmers and producers, making it an authentic taste of the region.
