Commune: Botanicals in your Bathroom

Nature-inspired botanicals for your bathroom, British-based Commune are sustainable self-care products that smell fabulous and feel amazing, while doing good. Created by husband-and-wife team Rémi Paringaux and Kate Neal, their worldly outlook and knowledge of pure perfume helped curate the eco-friendly brand, while their roots in the English countryside provide an abundance of natural inspiration.  

With a dedication to creating a product that actively motivates change, Commune’s showergels, shampoos, conditioners, hand washes and lotions are made with 99% naturally derived plant-based ingredients and are designed without single-use plastics. The products themselves are free from chemical nasties – you won’t find synthetic fragrance, artificial colourings, dyes, sulphates or parabens within Commune’s range.

What you will find is a set of bathroom items that are high on naturally scented botanicals. For each range, Commune create an original perfume which then informs the scent of each lotion and potion. For example, Seymour, their first signature scent, has complex yet woody notes, overlaid by citrusy grapefruit and lemongrass mixed with calming lavender. Each product is also created with a base butter or fruit oil to add a layer of nourishment to skin. Sourcing sustainably from nature is a top priority for Commune and it has spread the net far and wide in its quest for original ingredients with good provenance, such as Egyptian geranium, Japanese hiba wood, Iranian galbanum and Bulgarian lavender. 

Distinctive, too, is their packaging, which follows a brand-consistent philosophy of good design and environmental thought, the signature of Commune and its founders, Rémi Paringaux and Kate Neal.
