L’And Vineyards Resort – A Love Letter to the Land

Tucked away in the undulating plains of Alentejo, L’And Vineyards Resort is where contemporary elegance meets the ancient rhythms of wine country. Created in partnership with Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan of Studio MK27, this retreat is a seamless symphony of architecture and nature.

A constellation of low-lying, whitewashed structures embraces a still, reflective lake, mirroring the essence of Alentejo’s iconic “montes” – rural estates where architecture is at one with the land. Interiors are tactile and honest – oak wood wainscots and locally sourced black slate imbue warmth and quiet sophistication. But the real showstopper? Villas with retractable roofs, offering a celestial embrace of the starlit sky, pure, unfiltered luxury in its rawest form.

GS1 Portugal Headquarters – Concrete Meets Culture

Promontório’s transformation of a dated 1980s office block into the GS1 Portugal Headquarters is a masterclass in architectural alchemy. Located in Lisbon’s Lumiar district, this project breathes new life into an ageing structure, turning it into a contemporary workspace with artistic flair.

The façade is a striking interplay of floor-to-ceiling glass and textured concrete panels, etched with bas-relief artworks by Portuguese artist Vhils. These chiselled surfaces narrate stories of human connection in the digital age, merging technology and art into a single architectural expression.

Inside, the reinvention continues. Circular voids punctuate the structure, enhancing light and spatial flow. The rooftop terrace – complete with a social bar – is not just a workspace but a sanctuary for collaboration and creativity. This is office design, but not as you know it.

Embassy of Egypt – A Diplomatic Masterpiece

In the heart of Lisbon’s Restelo district, the Embassy of Egypt is an ode to monumentalism, blending cultural heritage with contemporary minimalism. Promontório’s design pays homage to Egypt’s architectural legacy, think massive slabs of anthracite-pigmented concrete, punctuated by intricate bas-relief patterns that echo the country’s timeless motifs.

Bronze-coated stainless steel window frames add a refined contrast, lending a warm glow against the stoic façade. Inside, a central atrium filters natural light through an Islamic-patterned louver, casting an ever-changing play of shadow and illumination across the walls. The material palette is an exercise in restraint, white stone, carved wood panelling, and veiled staircase railings reinforcing the embassy’s sense of gravitas.
