Greece and herbary go way back in time to antiquity. Throughout its history, the aromatic and medicinal herbs described by Hippocrates, Theophrastus, Dioscorides and Galen have long been a part of their rich holistic culture.

Anassa Organics is a specialist maker of hand-sourced holistic herbal tea infusions of Greek origin founded by Aphrodite Florou and Yanna Mattheou. Setting on a sensory journey of essential oils, rituals, Mythology, science and sustainability, the duo went beyond folklore to find the facts and, in realising a dream, creating an ethical brand bound to their homelands: Made in Greece.

Greece ranks third in the world in biodiversity and among the top five countries with the most incredible wealth of aromatic plants. Despite its small size, Greece hosts more than 7,500 plant species and subspecies, 1,600 of which are endemic, found nowhere else in the world.

Herb producers were chosen by Anassa through meticulous screening regarding cultivation conditions, harvesting methods, and their products' quality. The selected producers, mostly small family companies, are distinguished for their modern organic farming methods, leading to a natural balance, conserving biodiversity, the environmental conservation of ecosystems and reduced pollution.

Anassa Organics use 16 species of herbs to make thier aromatic brews, and the stand out point is when you open a tin: the scent is unbelievably good; like you are standing amongst wild herbs. The branding uses fun, mythical creatures (winning the European design awards gold in 2014) to depict the various tea creations.

Anassa (the Greek word for Queen) is a small company that preserves the ancients' traditions, protects home-farming and gives the land a mighty Greek hug back. Once the preserve of Mythical Greek gods, you can now experience the holistic of aromatics teas at home. Favourites include Lemon Balm, Mint and the classic Greek Mountain Tea.
