Harnessing the power of nature into high-quality skincare through strict sustainable practices, Susanne Kaufmann products use ingredients sourced from the mountains of Austria.
Attaining near-iconic status, Susanne Kaufmann’s simple, pared-back glass bottles, printed in neat black and red typeface adorn the spa shelves of many a top hotel, like the Hotel Arlberg in Lech or 1477 Reichhalter in South Tyrol, plus the beauty cabinets of those who’ve been let into the secrets of Susanne Kaufmann. A simple yet effective brand ethos, Susanne Kaufmann products promise to use the highest quality natural ingredients, paired with biotechnology to create skincare that has long-lasting effects.
Plant-based cult products include the cleansing gel made with hawthorn and masterwort, the lightly hued body oil created with cold-pressed rosehip seed oil and the mallow blossom bubble bath. Her face products have also gained acclaim for their age-preventative yet wholly holistic properties – the hyaluron serum moisturiser promises hydration and plumpness while the eye cream strengthens cell membranes.
A mountain girl at heart, Susanne Kaufmann was born in Bregenzerwald surrounded by the rugged beauty of alpine peaks. Like the five generations of her family that had settled here before her, Susanne grew up enveloped by the strong traditions of the Bregenzerwald region which centres around the good life: from food, architecture to wellbeing. The local flora in particular caught Susanne’s attention – the mountain herbs, flower-filled meadows and native plants which forms the backbone of Austria’s holistic wellness ethos.
In the mid-nineties, Susanne took over the family-owned hotel, established in 1850 by her great, great grandfather, set in a picturesque valley in Austria. From here, Susanne began crafting her all-natural skincare using plants from the surrounding landscapes offering guests a holistic retreat including detox, yoga and beauty. In 2002, her brand was officially born and today the well-known skincare guru has over 90 products to her line. Susanne still plays a big part in the running of the hotel; it is currently undergoing a huge sustainable renovation.
Combining Susanne’s intrinsic expertise in plants and herbs with her sustainable philosophy, Susanne Kaufmann’s products are known for their uncompromising quality.
